The Big Task for a Financial Controller The controller will have a seat on our Strategic/Leadership team. You will be a key participant in company planning, vision setting, and culture creation. You will be responsible for all financing and HR functions. We have experienced 30%+ growth for the past 3 years and look to continue that trend. We need you to drive us forward in a profitable and sustainable manner. We are plumbing, heating, and AC experts. You are the financial expert. We have a clear vision of what we need out of this position and a lot of solid processes and experience to build from. Because you most likely enjoy details, here are some (mostly super generic) responsibilities: Key Sub Tasks for a Financial Controller This is a position on our strategic team. Attend annual, quarterly, and weekly strategic team meetings. Manage the financial arm of the company to set and achieve goals. Manage the accounting and HR functions of the company. Provide a constant focus and action steps on increasing company profitability. Do normal controller stuff (aka): Build and maintain detailed financial reports to support short and long-term strategic planning. Conduct ongoing analysis of key business drivers, trends and performance indicators. Regularly present analysis and reports in an easy-to-understand format. Manage accountants to establish priorities, set objectives, and provide guidance and feedback. Shape company culture by carrying out agreed upon values, specifically ethics and integrity. Input data in budget plan on monthly basis Analysis of labor burden and profit projection Be able to spot red flags and bring to GM/Ops Manager Inventory Cost Analysis Vendor Cost Analyses Tracking Cash Flow Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, and tax returns. Analyzes operations to identify areas of improvement. Review financial reports and determine methods to reduce costs. Required Skills and Experience Full cycle understanding of accounting functions Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office software Proficient knowledge of Excel Desired Skills and Experience Managerial experience preferred.
